She's the Prom Queen, and I'm in the Marching Band!

So, one of my girlies just emailed me a picture from prom, which led me to decide to tell my prom story...here goes
So, its April, and prom is soon approaching. I didn't have a date, and, to be honest, didn't really want one. It was the whole, didn't want to spend Senior Prom with a boy I didn't really like. So I'm all stoked cuz I have this rockin' dress that's 1920's flapper style, and my hair looks awesome, I'm with my girlies feelin' hot :) and did I mention I was in the top 5 for Prom Queen? Yeah, that's where the real story comes in...
So yeah, top 5 for prom...the other girls are Lisa Gilbert, Jessica Schmidt, Ester Kim, and (gag) Casi Arnold. So, yeah I know the whole like, be nice Tara, but Casi and I have been rivals since 5th grade. So it gets to be time to announce queen, and they're calling names, everyone's cheering, loudest for Lisa (whom I wanted to win) and they announce Casi...silence. No one cheered. Yet, who won Prom Queen? Casi. Whatever. But in retrospect, I'm good with not having a million eyes on me and disliking me! :) I had more fun after anyways!

Apples to Apples, Dust to Dust....

So, I dunno how many of you have ever played Apples to Apples, but it is an amazingly fun card game. A green card is laid out that is an adjective. Then the players use their cards (nouns) that best describe the adjective. The green card player then picks which one fits best (or not) and so on. We played tonight (I lost...again...) and I ended up with "Legendary" and "Obnoxious." What I enjoy so much about this game is how the cards totally describe the winner! We played in my government class and this really cute guy was playing with us. I was the green dealer and the word was "Stunning." Nick (the cute guy) laughs and hands me his card and says "mine will totally win." Now I am a fairly unbiased player, so I took everyone's cards and as I'm reading through, none of them are really making me laugh. I get to the last one and it says "my body." Yes, amazingly cute boy puts down a card for "stunning" saying "my body." He won that round. :) But I seriously love that game. Somehow I always end up with cards like "informed," "boring," and the like. What the heck. :)

Tipping. Its The Polite Thing To Do!

So this lady comes in to my work yesterday and asks for her ice cream and I'm getting it all together, no problem. I go to ring her up, she pays with a credit card and everything's cool. The receipt thing takes forever to print up, like usual, and the lady goes "Um, I need to sign that thing." And rolls her eyes. I'm like, oh no, you do not roll your eyes at me! So she leaves WITHOUT TIPPING and I just kinda let it go. Then these two men walk in at 10:30, half and hour til we close and they don't leave until 11:15! And they didn't tip us! Okay, seriously, if you are gonna take forever or order something ridiculously hard to make you need to tip! We have to make a living too ya know! Oy. But seriously, nothing makes people like us more upset than when we don't get tipped. I mean, we're only making $6.50 an hour, and only working 20 hours a week. We thrive on tips! Tip anyone who serves you food! Even like 5 cents makes all the difference!

Laughing Keeps You Sane!!!

So, I really enjoy finding amusing things, like the above, to share with people because, well, I enjoy laughing! I find this kind of stuff, nearly die laughing, and then post or email it to everyone! And really, who doesn't enjoy laughing at a cat! :)

(sing the graduation song)

WOO!! I finally did it! I graduated on June 12, 2008 and I'm officially done with public education!! And two days later I turned 18, so it was all around a pretty rockin week. My parents got me the Indiana Jones boxed set and that was awesome! My bestie, Kat, got me the cutest purse ever, which makes me happy cuz it's huge! :) But anyways, graduation...We had 5 valedictorians (and I knew all 5!) and 2 salutatorians, Kat being one of them. Kat's speech basically made me bawl, but it was really good and meant the most to me, so that's all that matters! So, as we're walking out in the procession all orderly and what not, over the speakers the Indiana Jones theme starts playing! The idea was that it was our "last crusade" which is pretty clever, I must admit. :) So, I'm basically in love with David Cook, as previously mentioned, so one of the standing jokes at work is that the guys I work with will come up behind me and say really quietly "David Cook doesn't love you." and walk away. Jerks. :) Its all in good fun though. The other standing jokes came by inadvertently. So a song comes on Sirius and I ask Danny in all seriousness, "is this Elvis?" Totally didn't realize that that was an extremely blond question. So now EVERY song that comes on, Danny goes, "hey Tara, this isn't Elvis." Good times...good times...

Meow...

saw this and got a total kick out of it!!

A Tangent to Reeb's Post

So, my sister published a post the other day about being baby hungry...I'm feeling the same way, only I think I'm husband hungry. No, don't get me wrong, I do NOT want to get married anytime soon, but I think I'm being really future oriented and I just want to get married dang it! Hahaha, I suppose I'm a little nervous because my Uncle Kirk predicted I'd meet the guy I'm gonna marry within my first two weeks of college! Yikes! And I gotta love how every week at church at least two people say, "Oh, you're going to Cedar City? I have a younger brother there! We should totally hook you two up!" And I just smile and say, "you and everyone else..." But it's pretty entertaining. One of my mia maids, Ku'uipo Brown, says to me today after commenting on the cuteness of our new elder :) "Tara you can't like elders!!...Until after they get home!" Good times, good times...

I Scream, You Scream...

SCHOOLS OUT!!!!!! Oh man, the last day of my high school career was on Tuesday, and it was such an amazing feeling to be done with public schooling. I start school at Southern Utah University in the fall, and I'm basically stoked. I'll be majoring in History and minoring in Secondary Education. Pretty excited...
This week I started work at an ice cream place called Marble Slab. So much fun! We all sing and dance and my co-workers are insane! It is incredibly hard work, though...I woke up this morning with swollen hands and my shoulders are killing me! But I figure, it's kinda like a workout, so its worth it! It's yummy stuff too...love it!
